# Privacy Policy
This policy explains what WiFi Universal TV Remote ("the app") does with information about you. It covers the Android app com.universal.androidtvremote.app.
The app is published by [CapTech]. You can reach us at [email protected].
## The short version
We do not run any servers, and we never receive your data. The app talks to your television directly over your own Wi-Fi network, and everything it remembers stays on your phone. The one exception is advertising, which is served by Google and described in full below.
## What the app stores on your device
The following is saved in the app's private storage on your phone. It is not transmitted anywhere, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app.
| What | Why |
| --- | --- |
| The televisions found on your network — their names and local network addresses | So you can pick one without searching again each time |
| Any name you have given a television yourself | So your own labels survive a restart |
| Which televisions you have completed pairing with | So you are not asked to pair again on every launch |
| Pairing credentials issued to the app by Samsung and LG televisions | These sets issue the app a token or client key when you accept pairing on the television. It is kept so you are not asked to accept again, and it is meaningful only to that television |
| Your typing and search preferences for each television | Televisions differ in how they accept typed text, so your choice is remembered per set |
| Whether haptic feedback is switched on, and whether the keyboard should open automatically | Your preferences |
| How often you have used the app successfully | So the app knows when it is reasonable to ask you to rate it, and when not to ask again |
None of this is sent to us. We have no way to read it.
